Austin is the founder and CEO of SSC Laser. He studied Agricultural Engineering at Writtle Agricultural College, Essex. He started the Company in 2000 when he realised that Laser cut profiles were going to be the future for British fabrication businesses and manufacturers. Austin’s focus is on the future and strategy of SSC so that the Company can continually improve the service to its customers and become your Laser Profiler of choice.
Austin is a keen Ultra-Marathon runner, mountaineer and snow boarder, and has just taken up rock-climbing and ski-mountaineering so he can explore more inaccessible areas of the world.M: 01889 270241
Andy Evans joined SSC Laser Cutting in 2005.
He studied Mechanical Engineering at Stafford College serving a 5-year Apprenticeship as a Sheet Metal Worker. After serving his Apprenticeship he moved into Mild Steel Strip Mill Sales, spending 16 years selling sheet and plate to customers in the UK and Ireland.
Joining the business as Sales Director, he was instrumental in SSC becoming a truly national business and in January 2015 he became Managing Director for the SSC Group.
He is focused on ensuring SSC Laser continues its profitable growth in line with its core values of honesty, competitiveness, hard work, trust and success.

Joining SSC on January 2nd 2019, Paul has come to lead and support our external Business Development team. Paul has an extensive background in senior sales management having worked for manufacturing and global supply chain companies and has more than 20 years’ experience. His early career was with the RAF followed by roles in companies where he had extensive international responsibilities, covering EMEA and USA. A keen rugby and cricket fan and occasional golfer, Paul has the misfortune of supporting his home town football team, York City.
Paul is a keen advocate of continuous improvement both for himself and the team.

Jethro joined us straight from University, after getting a degree in Management International Business Economics from the University of Manchester. He has been at SSC Since July 2011, starting as a Junior Estimator, he worked his way up the business and was our youngest Sales Manager at SSC when he took on the role. Jethro is an avid sports fan, watching and playing football at every opportunity and self-proclaimed best Ten Pin Bowler at SSC (please note: this was proven to be incorrect after Group Sales Manager, Andy Hume, beat him comfortably with a score of 164 at Septembers team night out!).M: 07976 096972
Neil has over 20 years of flat product and tube processing knowledge from Precision Sheet metalwork to full fabrication of components. Having played semi-professional football for many Southern and Kent league sides for nearly 22 years he believes that teamwork, communication and playing to your strengths are key attributes to have in business and your personal life. Neil also enjoys playing cricket & golf and has also completed the 3 peaks challenge, climbing Ben Nevis (4409ft), Scafell Pike (3209ft) and Snowdon (3560ft) in 24 hours and after all of those exertions loves nothing more than sitting down with a pint of real ale.M: 07946 521702
Carl started off his sales career in Aberdeen in 2005, working in tele-sales for 7 years. He then moved and became a technical solutions adviser gaining invaluable industry knowledge working within the oil and gas sector, which was huge within the region at the time. After this he then moved into the steel industry and arrived at SSC Laser having worked for mild steel plate and tubular steel stockholders in sales both in Aberdeen and continued this when through work he relocated to Manchester in 2016. Away from work Carl is an avid Spurs fan, but also still plays at an amateur level. He also spends time with his wife Laura and dog Ledley.M: 07800 546289
Phil has worked in Engineering in the North East of England since 1992, predominantly in Laser & Waterjet cutting. In 2005 he started his own Laser and Waterjet cutting company and for the next 12 years like all small companies, he was involved in many roles.
He has a wealth of experience in the industry working with companies from many sectors and thoroughly enjoys engineering as no one day is the same as the next. One of the main things he loves about engineering is that unlike in many sectors you actually get to see and touch the end product after all the hard work. Of course, meeting and working with all of the fantastic people in the industry helps keep a smile on his face.
Away from the office, he has 4 wonderful children; Erin, Lucy, Ruby and Millie who all help their dad spend his free time. He enjoys DIY, movies and socialising and when he eventually gets some spare time, Phil likes to get away for adventure days out, where he has done things ranging from quad biking and clay pigeon shooting to tank driving and flying a plane.M: 07792 479218
Paul has joined us from a construction steel company where he was a Sales Manager, but office bound.
He was eager to be back customer facing as he was for many years in the Golf Industry. So, when the opportunity came along to work for SSC Laser it was an easy decision.
Paul is very customer orientated because as he says “without them, you wouldn’t have a job”
Trust and communication are his golden rule to head in the right direction to success.
Paul used to work as a Handyman for several years in and around his local village. During this time, as he worked locally it allowed him to become a Retained Fire Fighter for Essex Fire & Rescue where he enjoyed tremendous Teamwork & Comradery while helping to put something back into the community.
Rugby is his passion and although his playing days are over he enjoyed coaching his 2 boys Sam & Jack at youth level for many years.M: 07944 194265
Tim has joined SSC Laser as a Business Development Manager for the South West Region, covering Bristol, Cheltenham and Gloucester, South Wales and moving down through Devon & Cornwall.
Having started his career as an estate agent in Surrey, Tim learned the importance of excellent customer service before moving on to manage a sales team in a successful Wolseley UK Branch. He then moved into field sales where he developed his passion for building customer relationships working for an MRO distributor. Working closely with manufacturers improving efficiencies and providing cost savings and added value to his customers. Honesty and communication are vital so he can build long-lasting customer relationships.
Outside of work, Tim is a massive MMA fan and he has recently taken up Krav Maga self-defence as well as Yoga.M: 07950 382705
Scott joined SSC on January 2nd 2019, as the new Business Development & Account Manager for the Scottish region . With over 20 years’ experience within the metal industry, Scott comes with a wealth of sales, purchasing and operations management experience within the ferrous and non-ferrous stock-holding and profiling market. Scott has supplied to various high profile projects such as the Tyne Crossing project and the London Olympics Aquatics Centre.
Scott’s hobbies include Fishing and Golf and he is married with three children.

Peter started working at SSC Laser Cutting as Business Development Manager, East Midlands in late January 2019. His background is within the sports & leisure private sector, starting in the late nineties working with key sports brands, across many areas growing key retail accounts across Europe and the UK.
Over the last 6 years he has been working within the public sector, setting the commercial strategies for Sport England partners who targeted the need to grow central sales accounts and launch new innovative sponsorship opportunities.
Peter loves sport, and is passionate bout golf, but has accepted that his sporting dreams & ambitions may now have to be fulfilled by his 8 year old son, Thomas!M: 07837 592528
