Recent Growth at SSC

Recently, we have been experiencing unprecedented growth at our Derby division, which is something to celebrate about!

Our Derby division has been established at Trafalgar Park in Derby since 2011. We’ve recently recruited a new Sales Manager, Louis Jarrett, and a new Production Manager, Tim Green. Since their arrival, sales are up by over 80%!

Louis, who learnt the trade as an Estimator at SSC’s head office in Hixon near Stafford said,”I have been given a fantastic opportunity to run my own sales division at Derby and am enjoying every minute. We have a passion for giving exceptional customer service, from point of contact all the way through to customers receiving their laser engineered parts. I’m building an unbeatable sales team who are totally committed to giving the very best in customer care and service”.

Tim Green, who has been a part of our team 2 years started out as a CAD Engineer. He said, “Being a CAD Engineer gives you a great eye for detail and quality, this is helping me in my new role as Production Manager. I’m really enjoying working with Louis; we’re both totally focused on making SSC Derby the most successful division in the group”.

Managing Director, Andy Evans said, “We are delighted with the impact Louis and Tim have had on our Derby business in such a short space of time. Louis has recruited his own team in sales and the impact they have had in such a short space of time is staggering. Tim is doing a great job in ensuring what Louis sells arrives at our customers on time to the very highest levels of quality.”

He continued, “Due to this great success, we’ve been able to take on more projects that we’ve really been enjoying, such as working with Chris Gilbert Services, building various bits for exotic race cars such as the original Ford GT40! We’ve also been doing some ongoing work for customers who deal with Nikon and Bombardier. Another exciting project we’ve been working on recently is some required pieces for the Mclaren P1 GTR to convert it to road use, with number plate brackets, towing eyes, radio bracketry and so forth. It’s been a really exciting month!”

Along with the arrival of Louis and Tim,  we have also recently appointed two new Sales Estimators at our Derby Division, meaning that we now have the capabilities to increase the number of shifts so that the lasers can be running 24 hours, thus increasing the machines’ capacity for customers and improving even further on their already impressive lead time. We would like to thank all of our customers for the continued support and loyalty received, as without this these expansions wouldn’t have been possible.

This past August was our best month ever, and everyone is absolutely elated with the progress. It’s onwards and upwards for SSC!

As a result of the increased levels of business SSC Laser is employing more staff at Derby to man the new shift patterns on the shop floor, and we’re also looking for three new Sales Estimators in Bristol, Stafford and Derby. See here for more information!
